| TROUBLE SHOOTING FOR WEB CAMERAS Regular Quality Viewing Q. When I try to view the videos using Regular Quality, I am not able to see the videos. Answer: First, make sure you have Java installed. You can get that here: Q. I installed Java, and now I get a still picture or a Camera Not Ready message. Answer: Java version 6 has a bug that causes this behavior. To fix this follow these instructions: -Click on the Windows Start Menu and go to Control Panel -Double Click Java Control Panel -On the General tab, select the Settings button under Temporary Internet Settings -Uncheck the box Keep temporary files on my computer. Q. I am using a Mac, can I view the videos? Answer: Absolutely. You can use our Java based viewer with any browser that supports Java, such as Safari. Q. When I try to view the camera I get a "Camera Disabled" message. Answer: The camera only runs from 8:00-11:00am and 3:00-5:00pm, any other time you will get this message. Q. I have been able to view the camera before, but they aren't working today. Answer: First, check the time and remember to account for time zone differences, be sure it is 8:00-11:00am and 3:00-5:00pm PST. Second, check to be sure it isn't a closed holiday for Play N Stay. Third, please call us...we may need to reset our computer. Higher Quality Viewing In order to use the Higher Quality Viewer, you must have Windows and Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. The first time you log onto the Higher Quality Viewing, you will need to install Active X Controls called Live.cab to uncompress the video stream. Online Doggy states that this is safe to install and will not cause a damage to your machine. Follow the steps below to install these files: 1. Click here to get Live.cab 2. When prompted, click Run or Install twice 3. The first time you try to view the higher quality video, you may get a security warning in your browser saying the Active X Control Live.cab is trying to run on your computer. Click on this security warning and tell it to Allow Live.cab to run. Windows Vista Users - One more step to the above instructions. 1. Close all Internet Explorer windows. 2. Right Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop, and select Run as Administrator. 3. Enjoy If you still experience difficulties, please call us at 303-805-4034.
